Ever Wonder What I Look Like?
Now you know.
A self-portrait, not taken in the kitchen…but in the office instead.

Now I can stop googling your name to put a face to this awesome blog. Your blog is the third website I go to after my email and my xkcd comic.

You look as lovely as your writing and cooking! Now we know where Kat’s red hair comes from!
Comment by Deanna — March 7, 2009 #
Thank you all–you are too sweet.
Deanna–it is true, Kat’s red hair came from my side of the family–my Dad’s mother was a redhead, as were all of her sisters and her mother, and I have several red-haired cousins.
Alas, my own hair started out as blonde, then darkened over the years to a mousy brown. I took to dying it red about eighteen years ago–and now, I am happy to say, I only use henna to do my hair and it has never been more beautiful, shiny, healthy strong and thick.
If anyone has any questions about doing henna for hair, I can post about it–it is a bit of kitchen alchemy for sure.
We henna Zak’s hair, too–not so much for the color, but for the conditioning. It relaxes his natural curls and tames the frizzies as well as making his hair thick and shiny.

Very fun! Love seeing the photo and you look great. Love the red hair!

Great pic! Please do post about henna. I have been using henna for years, but have recently wondered if I should go and have my hair dyed professionally as I don’t want to look like mutton dressed as lamb. But your photo has convinced me that is can look cool and sophisticated, and I don’t really want to sell out to the scary chemicals after so long without!

I’d love to see a post about henna, I’ve always been curious!
Thanks for the picture, you’re similar to what my imagination had provided, but it’s nice to see “the real thing!” 🙂

Yes, do post about henna. I’ve never used it on my hair, only my skin, but I’ve been curious.
Strangely enough, I agree with Kristi that your picture is quite similar to my imagination, too. Have you put up a picture before?

It’s great to see what you look like! For some reason I had you pictured totally wrong. 🙂

Nice to meet you! I’ve often wondered how you look and now I know. Your hair is amazing. I’d love to henna mine but it is silver so I don’t think it would be a good idea somehow.
